What can I sell on Stephen Avenue Walk?
Items that can be sold on Stephen Avenue Walk include artwork, some jewelry and other unique items.
You cannot sell: coffee/tea, coffee mugs, T-shirts, Canadian flags or souvenir items, undergarments, shoe shines, cowboy hats/baseball hats
What type of seller am I on Stephen Avenue Walk?
- Vendors — Vendors are temporary, daily re-sellers of product on Stephen Avenue Walk or Barclay Parade. Vendors have a designated space.
- Food Vendors — Food vendors are temporary, daily sellers of food on Stephen Avenue Walk or Barclay Parade. Food vendors have a designated space.
- Artists — Artists MUST create/perform their own original art, this includes Henna but does not include reproductions. Artists are assigned a specific space on Stephen Avenue Walk.
- Merchants — Merchants are the businesses that are permanently located along Stephen Avenue Walk or Barclay Parade and operate 365 days of the year. They pay business taxes and a levy to the Calgary Downtown Association.
Applications for each year are accepted from January 15 until the third Friday in April. After review, successful applicants will be notified by email.
Vendors
Vendors are temporary, daily re-sellers of product on Stephen Avenue Walk or Barclay Parade. Vendors have a designated space and must follow the guidelines set out in the Stephen Avenue Walk Vendor Guide.
Vendor Permit Application Checklist
- Completed Application Form
- Deliver the application package in person to our office
Once you have been accepted you will be asked to sign a contract with the Calgary Downtown Association for the use of the space and to provide post-dated payments for all months and a deposit cheque of $500 for use of the tent.

Vendor Permit Application Checklist
- Completed Daytime Application Form or Nightime (1800hrs to 0300hrs) Application Form
- A copy of your Health Inspection Certificate (AB Health services — contact an Alberta Public Health Inspector at 403 943 8013)
- Deliver the application package in person to our office
