Vehicle Access Permits for Stephen Avenue Walk

The Calgary Downtown Association operates and maintains Stephen Avenue Walk on behalf of the City of Calgary.

Stephen Avenue Walk is closed to vehicle traffic from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm daily unless you have a Vehicle Access Permit.  Vehicle Access Permits are valid from 6:00am to 10:30pm and 2:00pm to 6:00pm only.

The Vehicle Access Permit applies to 8 Avenue SW from 3 Street SW to 1 Street SE.

Note: Stephen Avenue Walk does NOT include Olympic Plaza. For permit access to Olympic Plaza, contact the City of Calgary at 311 or 403-268-2489.

• Vehicle access permits allow for a 15 minute drop-off period only
• Vehicle access permits are NOT valid during City of Calgary snow removal
• Vehicle access permits are NOT valid from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm daily
• NO EXCEPTIONS

How much do vehicle access permits cost?

• Daily Permit: $10.00 plus GST
• Annual Permit: $575.00 plus GST
• Back alley access/loading docks: no permit required

• Delivery companies with customers on Stephen Avenue Walk
• Events that need to set up on Stephen Avenue Walk

The Calgary Downtown Association (CDA) adheres to rules and guidelines established by the City of Calgary. As such, the CDA does not issue vehicle access permits between 10:30 am and 2:00 pm.
